P.G. Department of Chemistry

Departmental Profile :

Established in the year 1995, the Department of Chemistry has been imparting Higher Secondary courses under ASSEB and Under Graduate Courses (FYUG) in Chemistry under Bodoland University. In the year 2024 Post Graduate Course M.Sc. Chemistry was started under Bodoland University. The UG and PG courses are being run as per NEP 2020 curriculum as implemented by Bodoland University. From the year 2025, Bodoland University has recognized the Department as affiliated Research Lab and three Faculty members as Research Supervisor for guiding Ph.D. scholars.

Besides this, the Department have been organizing awareness and counselling Programme for Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) and M.Sc. Entrance examinations for the students of Sem-V of the department every Year. So far twelve students have cracked JAM and completed their M.Sc. from IIT, NIT etc. and some are pursuing M.Sc. after cracking JAM. The Department also organizes different activities like seminar, workshop and other departmental activities among the students for their all-round development. The Department received the “Best Department” Award for the Session 2018-2019. A total of Twenty (20) Students secured First Class in B.Sc. Final Exam, since 2019.

The primary moto of the Department is to create a cognitive environment in the distribution of knowledge in the branch of Chemical education to generate quality human resources from this locality to serve the country. The Department has five experiences, qualified and competent faculty members and one highly professional and skilled contractual faculty member. All the members of the Department is devoting to foster an academic culture of excellence in the college as well as to uphold the highest standards in the chemical education.
